Society policy
Chapter 1: General Provisions
(Purpose)
Article 1. The Japan Society of Corrosion Engineering, a public interest incorporated association (hereinafter referred to as the "Society") has established the policy indicated below for the purpose of responding to the trust placed in the Society by society through the measures to ensure that (i) in order for the Society to fulfill its social mission of solving environmental and energy issues and safeguarding the safety and security of social infrastructure and industrial equipment, its partners are aware of such mission and that (ii) its partners, as professionals involved in corrosion science and anti-corrosion technology, carry out their duties in compliance with laws, regulations and other rules, while giving full consideration to the significant impact of science and technology on the environment and society.
Chapter 2: Policy
(Social Responsibility in the Role of a Professional Involved in Corrosion Science and Anti-corrosion Technology)
Article 2. Partners of the Society shall be fully aware that the research and study on corrosion engineering, the dissemination and guidance of corrosion protection science and technology, and other activities that they engage in as partners of the Society have a significant impact on the global environment and society. In conducting these activities, they shall comply with laws, regulations and other rules, and strive to conduct basic research and practical application of technologies truly needed by society, as well as to promote the widespread adoption and awareness of such technologies. Partners of the Society shall bear social responsibility for quality, reliability, and a sense of safety and security felt by the public with regard to the technical information they disseminate.
(Dedication to Refining Skills as a Professional)
Article 3. As professionals involved in corrosion science and anti-corrosion technology for metal and other materials, the partners of the Society shall continuously strive to absorb specialized knowledge and improve their abilities in the field of corrosion science and anti-corrosion technology, and respond honestly to society based on a wealth of accurate specialized knowledge, thereby maintaining trust and respect in their professional capacity.
(Fair Activities)
Article 4. Partners of the Society shall strictly abide by truth and fairness when conducting their professional activities, and shall act in good faith. They shall ensure that the results obtained are handled strictly, never cheat on the results, and act responsibly from a neutral standpoint that is not influenced by particular interests.
(Impartial Activities)
Article 5. Partners of the Society shall respect individual freedom and treat individuals fairly, without discrimination based on race, nationality, religion, creed, sex, age, status, etc.
(Compliance with Laws and Regulations)
Article 6. Partners of the Society shall comply with relevant laws, ordinances, rules, the Society's Articles of Incorporation, regulations, etc. when conducting their professional activities.
(Compliance with Contracts)
Article 7. Partners of the Society shall be obligated to comply with professional contracts and agreements and to maintain confidentiality regarding confidential information that they come to know in the course of their work.
(Information Disclosure and Accountability)
Article 8. Partners of the Society shall disclose the results obtained through the performance of their professional duties to the extent possible and fulfill their accountability in order to gain the understanding, cooperation, and trust of society.
(Respect for Intellectual Products)
Article 9. Partners of the Society shall respect the intellectual property of individuals and companies, including intellectual property rights, patent rights, and copyrights.
(Mutual Cooperation and Respect among Professionals)
Article 10. Partners of the Society shall respect the knowledge, property, and privacy of others, and shall cooperate in improving each other's abilities. Partners of the Society shall humbly accept the professional opinions, arguments, and criticisms of others, and fairly evaluate the intellectual products and achievements of others.
(Revision and Abolition of Regulations)
Article 11. Any revision or abolition of these Regulations will be deliberated by the Ethics Committee and approved by the Board of Directors and the General Meeting of Members.
